I am currently recruiting for an IT Technician to join a TOP client in NYC. This fast paced role provides daily onsite Tier 1 and Tier 2. I.T. support directly to the companies Information Technology end users in our energetic office environment. The I.T. Technicians troubleshoot and resolve issues with desktop software and hardware, printers, networks, telephones/voice systems and other related equipment. Solutions are explained to employees by providing guidance in a user-friendly, professional manner and may include one-on-one training as needed.
The responsibilities of this position include:
Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 support to our staff in-person and remotely.
Provide ongoing prompt, intuitive and proactive I.T. support services to end users.
Follow documented I.T. procedures and policies during the course of performing all duties.
Configure and install desktop hardware, software, printers and other equipment as directed.
Utilize help desk ticketing system to document and track work on issues and assignments.
Provide IT support for POS, AV and Security systems.
Provide needs based training to end users ensuring all IT solutions available are leveraged effectively.
Proactively advise IT Business Support Manager on trending issues and make recommendations.
Contribute to making recommendations for revisions or updates to written instructional materials and procedure manuals.
Escalate issues to other IT team members as needed.
Directly assist IT Infrastructure Manager, System Administrators and Business Operations Support Manager to resolve issues as needed.
Set up, modify and deactivate user accounts in active directory and exchange systems.
Set up, modify and deactivate file share access on file servers.
Communicate with vendors to resolve issues and make repairs.
Perform back up and recovery activities as needed.
Conduct hardware and software inventory database maintenance and reporting
Work both independently and jointly with other staff members to accomplish duties assigned.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Business Support Manager.
Provide off hours support as part of the on-call
The requirements of this position include:
High School Diploma required, Associates Degree in I.T. related field preferred
3-5 years’ experience required working as an I.T. Technician providing end user support
3-5 years’ experience required working with Mac and PC computers
3-5 years’ experience required working with Microsoft Office
3-5 years’ experience required phone & printer troubleshooting
3-5 years’ experience required working with basic software and network troubleshooting
2 years POS experience strongly preferred
White Glove Service REQUIRED
Excellent communication skills
Ability to work effectively on a team
Ability to work under pressure and in a fast paced environment
Must be detail oriented
ITIL v3 Foundation preferred
CompTIA A+ Certification or higher preferred
CompTIA Security+ preferred
Travel between NYC Site locations
